CLUB NOTES - 21st August 2018
Our senior team began their championship campaign against Eastern Harps with a comfortable 3-20 to 0-3 point victory over Eastern Harps in very wet condition in Cloonacool GAA park last Saturday evening. Our next championship fixture will be the championship semi final, more than likely on the weekend of 22nd /23rd of September. Our starting team on Saturday was Shane Kilgannon; Ian Barrett, Noel McGuire, Hayden Gilroy; John Feeney, Eanna Moylan, Jonathan Conway; Rory McHugh, Eugene Mullen; James Lindsay, Emmet Healy, Joseph Dunphy; Joe McHugh, Ryan McKenna, Kevin Duffy. Congratulations to the u13 girls rounders team who were crowned all Ireland champions last weekend at the community games. The girls have put in a huge effort this year and got their reward last weekend. Well done to players and management.
Our junior team begin their championship campaign with a fixture against local rivals St Farnans next Saturday 25th August at 6.30 pm in St Farnans Community park.
Our Senior hurlers lost to Coolera/Strandhill in the Martin Brennan Cup quarter final last Wednesday evening 15th August on a scoreline of 4-14 to 4-18 in Easkey.
The Easkey/Kilglass- Enniscrone minors play Curry this Wednesday 23rd of August at 7.15 out in Curry for round 4 of the Minor championship
Congratulations to both players and management of the Easkey u12 huling team who beat Tubbercurry/Cloonacool last Wednesday 14th August in the D Final in Scarden on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-7.
Underage Hurling training continues during the week as follows.
Saturday morning – u8s/ u10s/ u12s 11am – 12 at the pitch
Monday night u8s/ u10s/ u12s 8-9 pm at the pitch (see Easkey/St Farnans page on Facebook)
Training continues on Wednesdays at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 10 in the pitch for all U8 and U10s.
