​​​CLUB NOTES - 28th May 2018


Our senior team were very impressive in a 6-15 to 0-9 win against St Patrick’s on Saturday evening in the Benson Cup in Easkey. There are no games this weekend due to the Sligo vs Galway game. Best of luck to Mikie Gordon and the rest of the Sligo panel for this weekend’s fixture.

The Junior game against Owenmore Gaels that was fixed for last Sunday in Easkey will now be played this Wednesday the 30th in Easkey at 8pm. 

U17 Sligo Hurling
Well done to all the Easkey/St Farnans lads on the win against Mayo in the U17 Celtic Challenge fixture last week. The match finished 2-22 to 5-8. Next up is Roscommon on Wednesday the 6th of June.

U20 Sligo Football
Best of luck to all the local lads on the u20 Sligo team playing Roscommon next Saturday the 2nd June in the Connacht Quarter Finals.

Sligo Hurling
Well done to Joe McHugh who was on the Sligo Hurling team that beat Fermanagh on a scoreline of 0-20 to 1-13 last weekend in the Lory Meagher Cup. Next up is a fixture against Cavan on the 9th June in Markievicz Park.

The Easkey/Enniscrone-Kilglass U-16 team were handed the points for the fixture against Coolera/Strandhill last week. They play Tubbercurry/Cloonacol at 7pm on Monday the 28th and against Castleconnor on Thursday evening 7pm, both in Quigabar pitch.

Cumann na mBunscoil
Well done to all local school children on doing so well in recent finals. Owenbeg girls performed really well and best of luck to Rathlee boys who have their replay of the final on Wednesday evening. 

Underage Hurling
Underage Hurling training continues during the week as follows.
Saturday morning – u8s, u10s - 11.15am – 12.
Saturday morning - u12s - 12-1 pm
Monday night u12 8-9 pm in the factory (see Easkey/St Farnans page on Facebook)

Rounders training continues on Monday nights for girls 7-16 years old from 5.30 to 7pm in Owenbeg school pitch. 41 girls registered so any new members are always welcome. They will be attending the u13 Feile on the 4th June in the Heath GAA club in County Laois so best of luck to all involved. Roisin McHugh is leading a Rising Star Programme to develop skills in the u10 age group. Contact Claire McGuire if interested in joining up.

Training continues on Wednesdays at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 20 in the pitch for all U8 and U10s. Well done to all players who lined out against Tourlestrane last week. Next fixture is Tourlestrane again next Wednesday the 6th June.

U12- U14
Training continues for the u12 and u14 teams during the week.
