Easkey Sea Blues GAA Club
CLUB NOTES - 17th June 2019
Our senior lads came out on the wrong end of a 1-10 to 0-8 result against local rivals St Farnans in round 7 of the Division 2 league last Sunday down in Templeboy. A very poor first half performance did not help our cause, only registering 2 points. There is no league game for two weekends, with our next fixture against league leaders Geevagh on the weekend of 6/7th of July in Easkey.
Nicky Rackard Final
Best of luck to all our club mates and Easkey/Farnans hurlers who are playing with the Sligo Hurling team in the Nicky Rackard final against Armagh next Saturday in Croke Park. Easkey/St Farnans hurling is well represented with Rory McHugh, Andrew Kilcullen, Mikie Gordon, James Weir, Donal Hanley and Sean Hallinan all on the panel.
Rory McHugh was part of the Sligo u20 squad who lost out to a strong Tyrone team in the Philly McGuinness u20 final last Saturday in Mohill. It was not all bad news however as the magician came up with the score of the match, collecting the ball and rounding 5 Tyrone players and the keeper to score Sligo’s goal.
Well done to all our local hurlers who are part of the u17 hurling Celtic Challenge team who beat Monaghan in the Quarter finals on a scoreline of 6-12 to 2-4 last week. They move forward to the semifinals with opposition/time and date TBC.
Our u12s play Coolera/Strandhill in round 7 of the league next Tuesday 25th at 7pm in Easkey. Best of luck
Our under 12 hurlers play Tourlestrane this Tuesday 18th June at 7pm out in Tourlestrane. Good luck to players and management
